Taking it to the limit in Tampa Bay

Saturday's 6-hour fishing trip was like a continuation of our last offshore adventure. Kingfish, Sharks and Bonitos ruled the day and our new friends from the heartland of America handled it like pros. With all of the action that was, once again, brought to the Jawbreaker table, it would be hard to walk away from this trip and not feel like a pro...just ask young Scott and his brother, Tyler.

Nick Whitmore brought his crew all the way from Iowa to experience the laid-back lifestyle that St.Pete Beach has to offer, and what better way to relax than go on a sport fishing charter...that's what he thought. With good friends Max, Brian, Scott and Tyler, Nick was feeling right at home on our ride out to the fishing grounds, little did he know that mayhem was only a few miles away...waiting for him! And just like our last fishing charter in the 'ditch', the bite was on as soon as we got there. Kingfish were literally 'skyrocketing' out of the water trying to get away from the massive Sharks that seem to have set up camp in this area. Within 10 minutes of slow-trolling live Sardines and Threadfin we had our first Kingfish in the fish box, compliments of Tyler. Several Kings were lost to the Sharks before Scott finally joined the ranks with an impressive 15-pound Kingfish, fought to the gaff and reunited with his smaller brother in the fish box. The bite was strong and even after losing as many Kings as we boated, we had 8 and a half Kings to bring to the grill...not bad...not bad at all. Check out the boys from Iowa, Tyler and Scott, with a couple of their biggest fish ever!

Our crew of a Marine(Max), a Sheriff(Nick), a Farmer(Brian) and a couple of young men from the heartland made it happen...pro-style! Bonus fish of the day goes to Scott with a Shark over 200-pounds, that's over twice his size, on 40lb test line. Let's just say that Scott is a man now, compliments of Jawbreaker fishing charters! Happy fishing to Ya! Capt.Dan
