Warm Winter equals hot fishing for Tampa

Fishing in the Tampa area is still very active. This Winter has been one of the warmest to date, and the fish know it! Our recent 4-hour fishing charter from Pass-a-grille, on St.Pete Beach, was happy to be greeted by the non-stop feeding frenzy that awaited them in 40 feet of 66 degree water.

Gilbert Evans Sr. brought his family down from Illinois to celebrate his 70th birthday and what better way to celebrate such a milestone...go fishing on the Jawbreaker, and be treated to a care-free day in the Florida sunshine. With 4 generations of Evans' on board we headed out into the Gulf of Mexico and made our way to a local 'honey hole' for some Grouper and Snapper fishing. The bite was a bit slow in the very beginning due to the slack tide and very dirty water, but with a little patience, and water movement, the fish were biting in no time. Lots of 'almost' legal Red Grouper and even more Grey snapper showed up once our underwater chum slick reached their noses. Little Brody Evans caught the biggest Red Grouper of the day, unfortunately the lens cap was still on the camera for that pic...sorry Brody, we're gonna have to burn that one into memory.

Again, fun was had by all and the Jawbreaker made some new friends and future clients. Do like the Evans' and bring your special occasion to St.Pete Beach, Florida for memories that will last forever. We have the nicest beaches in the nation, first class hospitality to match it and world class fishing and recreation. Call Jawbreaker fishing charters today and plan your next tropical getaway. Happy fishing to Ya, Capt.Dan
