Very Happy 4th of July

Well that was one heck of a holiday weekend...and the holiday is today! I just can't take anymore good times, well, maybe just a little more. Anyway, our fishing trip on Friday was just like most other Jawbreaker fishing charters....awesome! We fished the first annual 'Grunt Wars” fishing competition with good friends Mike, Mark, Matt, Bernard, Chad and Ken. We competed against another local charter fishing boat, who had the 'girls' team, for the biggest Grey Snapper a.k.a. 'grunt'.

As is typical for this time of year, we had to maneuver around a few thunderstorms early in the morning, but the weather did cooperate for the most part, and the cloud coverage actually made it feel cool that day. Actually, we were feeling really cool once the first Hogfish came over the rail, then a second, bigger Hogfish joined the party, now how cool are we? The guys managed to put 3 nice Red Grouper in the box, along with almost 100 snappers, and we had a meal for the army of fans attending the 'Backyard Rock Show' at the West Loft on Saturday.

Once again, great times with great people, and lots of fishing action packed into just a few wonderful hours on the Gulf of Mexico. Check out my crew with a few prize fish. We did not win the competition for the biggest grunt, but our crew, and their catch, had “Winner” written all over them. Jawbreaker fishing charters will be counting the days until next year's 'Grunt Wars' competition, why not join us? Call today and book a spot for one of the best events in the Tampa Bay area...Grunt Wars! Happy fishing to Ya, Capt.DanI
