The state of Tampa Bay Grouper is good

Now that the Gag Grouper closure is in effect, we can't seem to get away from these 'endangered' fish. We are literally trying to fish bottom more specific to the Red Grouper species, and the Gags just keep on coming....oh well, it's still a pretty good problem to have if you are into catch-and-release fishing. And I must mention, the Red Grouper bite has been strong, and Jawbreaker fishing charters have still been able to go home with plenty of fresh Grouper for the grill!

This past Saturday we got to play host to some fine folks from Indiana, and 3 generations of fishermen at that. Dan, Adam(son),Tyler(grandson) and good friend Evan were ready for a session of tug-o-war with some bottom dwellers, and I knew right where to take them. 60-70 feet of water West of St.Pete Beach has been working out for us recently so I figured it would be a good starting point.....again, our figures were correct. Both Red Grouper and Gags were making their way to our lines right off the bat! Check out Adam with one of many 'heartbreak' Gags....and I mean many! Great times, and these boys had their fill in 6 hours, not to mention the cooler full of big Red Groupers and giant grunts. Tight work boys!

Jawbreaker fishing charters strikes again! Book your Grouper fishing charter today and get in on the action before the water gets too cold. Happy fishing to Ya!Capt.Dan
