Thanksgiving day parade on the Jawbreaker

Now this is getting crazy...again! Gag Grouper have invaded every rock, ledge and hard-bottom area off St.Pete Beach, in any depth. We literally can not seem to get away from them, targeting Red Grouper on hard-bottom areas just keep turning up Gags, and our fair share of Reds-but come on already!

A recent full-day(in the snot!) with Capt. Vern, Cathy, Alisa and Tom turned up a half dozen keeper Red Grouper and a ton of giant grey snappers, cool...mission accomplished for the fresh fish dinner. However, the real story was all about Gags, and a good time,of course. Check out Tom with one of about 25, large, 'keeper sized' Gag Grouper caught that day...and promptly released. Fortunately, unfortunately, this has been the norm lately. I guess it's a good thing, for the future of the fishery, but for now-it hurts!

Heart-breaker Gags baby, now we're fishing! We can expect this kind of action to continue throughout the Winter, so quit wishing and let's go fishing. Happy Thanksgiving folks! Capt.Dan
