Summertime sportfishing from John's Pass

This is what deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico is all about folks! We do fishing charters out of John's Pass, Madeira beach and Pass-a-grille on St.Pete beach and the results are always worth writing home about. On Friday we took a bunch of action-hungry anglers out for some sportfishing fun and they got their money's worth. Just ask Ryan and his new friend!(pic above)

We started at the Madeira beach reef for a little trolling action on the Spanish mackerel and Barracuda. Water temps are still in the high 80's and the fish can feel it. In the morning we dragged some plugs and gold spoons to get the 'macks' biting, and they bit. Spanish mackerel are one of the best tasting fish when properly handled, stored and cooked. Smoking is the best...and even Ted Peter's will tell you so.

Moving on to the Betty Rose provided the 'Cuda' action. These fish were relentless,  if we brought a mackerel or a bonito to the boat whole we were lucky! This kind of action is expected through the summer, as well as Sharks, Tarpon, Cobia...and of course, Grouper, Snapper and many other bottom fish just waiting for your hook.

While there are many charter fishing boats in and around the Tampa Bay area and John's Pass, Jawbreaker fishing charters will give you the most bang for your buck...guaranteed! Call Jawbreaker charters today and get in on the summertime sportfishing that you are desperately in need of. Happy fishing to ya, Capt. Dan
