Scratch one more off the bucket list Scotty

What a way to spend another beautiful day in the Florida sunshine...catching big fish! That's what Kevin Beebe had in mind for his crew, Adam(son), Allie(daughter), Scott(brother), 'big' Dave and first-timer Tony, this past weekend, and he didn't even have to travel very far, coming from Naples.

With some of the nicest weather we have experienced all year as a backdrop, the fishing has been a solid match for the surroundings. Fall conditions are creeping in with birds, bait, and mackerels schooling up and swarming the nearshore, and offshore waters of St.Pete Beach and Tampa Bay. Offshore wrecks like the Betty Rose, South County reef and the St.Pete reef are holding all of the above, and then some...especially Barracudas!

The Barracuda action has been off the chain for us the past several weeks, and Saturday was no different. We had the cudas in a feeding frenzy and the fish were flying everywhere. Allie hooked up the biggest of the day, and after flying out of the water about 10 times and swimming a few circles around the boat, this fish of 40 pounds+ shot out of the water one last time, shook the hook and flew his way to freedom...what an awesome sight to see! The big one that got away. Sorry Allie.

Once again, though, everyone caught fish and a good time was had. Check out Scott Beebe with his “bucket list fish”, a solid 30 pound Florida Barracuda...way to go Scott! Thanks Kevin for bringing a great crew, a better attitude and showing extreme gratitude..wink! Until next time, Happy fishing brotha! Capt.Dan
