Prime time for pelagics off St Pete beach

If catching a big Kingfish is on your list of "things to do", now is the time to go for it! Our fishing charters, out of Pass-a-grille on St.Pete beach, have been experiencing some outstanding action involving big Kings. Just ask Steven Mays and his crew, Joe, Mike, Steven, Harry and Patrick. They are probably still smiling from the roller coaster-like excitement that was Wednesday morning's first 4-hour fishing charter of the day.

After a few throws of the net, and a few prime baitfish, we were on our way. Leaving the pass,we were greeted by light winds and clear skies...perfect! Arriving at the St.Pete reef 15 minutes later, there appeared to be very little activity. Well, the lines were in the water for about 3 minutes before we were into a triple hook-up. Let the games begin! Jon handled the situation, and the crew, like a pro, unfortunately the triple hook-up turned out to be Jack Crevalle times 3. After a few more jacks and a few nice Spanish macks we finally got the big hit we were looking for. This big fish had a mind of it's own and did like most big kingfish do peeling a couple hundred yards of line off the reel before we could even react. After a 15 minute battle and a perfect swing of the gaff, young Harry met his biggest fish ever. Check him out with a true 'smoker' kingfish on the Jawbreaker.(above pic)

This kind of action continued for the entire trip, in the same spot. Steven boated another big king followed by Mike's huge Barracuda, and the whole crew added some big macks to the fish box. As is typical of kingfishing, we lost many big fish but created even more great memories. Whether you are a kid, or just a kid-at-heart, there is nothing like the sound of a screaming reel and a Big Kingfish to bring some excitement to your life. Book a fishing trip with Jawbreaker fishing charters right now! Come experience the thrill of Kingfishing near St.Pete beach, on the West central coast of Florida. Happy fishing to ya, Capt. Dan

Dan & Jon,

We all had a great fishing trip with you guys. We cooked some of our catch for lunch and then shared the rest with the others on the team as we had to return to England. Forget BigMac, it's got to be FreshMack! Now we're back it is fantastic to see your pics and notes on your site. We will definitely be back and will recommend you to everyone we know.
