One tough Kitty

What better way to spend the day in Tampa Bay than a nice relaxing boat ride with 5 of your best friends...and few bottles of wine. That's what Cheri did this past week, and lucky for me, one of her best friends is my Mom, pretty cool, eh? Yep, and after dodging another bullet, named Hurricane Issac, we had nothing but clear skies and sunshine as a backdrop for this outing.

Although the storm had passed, the offshore waters were left looking more like mud...with a 5 foot swell! The girls were not interested in fishing anyway, but I could not take the Jawbreaker for just a boat ride without dragging a spoon, or something. We took a slow cruise down to the skyway where, to my surprise, the water actually looked fishy. And after an hour of cruising around and under the big bridge, we finally got to yell “Fish On”. Check out Kitty battling the first Spanish mackerel of the day...way to go girl!

Although the fishing was slow, the action was not, and these girls know how to party, the hooting and hollering never stopped. Good times indeed. The ladies got their share of sunshine and laughter and I think it is safe to say, we will be doing this again. Cheri, Mom, Kitty, Marylyn, Debbie and Karen........thanks for making a bright day even brighter. Happy fishing, Capt.Dan
