One fish two fish

This past Thurday's fishing charter was another reminder that there is a shortage of Gag Grouper in the Gulf of Mexico...Not! We started our fishing trip with the usual, troll-around-the-wreck for Kings and Cudas, and to my dismay, they were not willing. We have noticed a difference in the water color over the past few weeks and wonder if the fish are moving around to stay out of it. Strange, other local charter captains have also made note of this scenario. I don't think it is anything to worry about, but we will certainly keep an eye out for these things in the future.

Anyway, we put in enough time, with prime baits, to figure out that the toothy ones were not going to eat. After boating one big Bonito, and several Gags, we decided bottom fishing would be the way to go. And it was, check out Kevin and Kyle Krauss with a pair of 'would-be' keeper Gag Grouper, on their first drop. Way to go guys! We also had Katrina and Kendall Krauss, along with cousin, Melissa, and Kyle's soon to be bride, Laura, on this fishing trip.  These folks were great, and the fishing was off the chain. We caught plenty of Red and Gag Grouper, lots of Snapper for the fish-fry, and some nice size Sharks for the memories.

Do like Kevin and Katrina Krauss, take your family on an offshore fishing charter with Jawbreaker fishing charters. We have been serving up fantastic fishing trips, on St.Pete Beach, for over 7 years....and loving every minute of it! Call today and spend a day with the Jawbreaker. Happy fishing, Capt.Dan
