Lets go fishing Cheif

The state of the Gag Grouper population is good, and after this one man fishing charter out of Pass-a-grille, St.Pete Beach, it looks like it's only going to get better. Of course, due to the water temps in the high 50's, the awesome Red Grouper bite we experienced a few months ago is well offshore, but the Gags remain, huh! I guess the term 'over fished' even has a different meaning these days.

A recent 5-boat corporate charter on St.Pete Beach gave us the chance to cover the spectrum and network with some other charter captains to find out where the best bite was. It turns out in the end, everyone did well regardless of which direction they traveled, but 40-45 feet of water seemed to be the common denominator. The Gag Groupers, Red Grouper, Snappers, Porgies all came on very strong and kept our new pal, Brett, very busy...and Brett responded with the strength and agility of a pro NFL player....

Yes, that is Brett Schnitzius, offensive lineman, Kansas City Chiefs 1987-1988 holding one of many throw back keeper Gag Grouper caught on this fishing charter. Folks, this is not a job, there is nothing difficult about hanging with very cool people, from all walks in life, and hearing the their stories...all the while fishing...I know, tough life!
