High seas and Big Grouper in the Gulf of Mexico

Grouper fishing in the shallow waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, as reported yesterday, is still on a good pace. Saturday’s 8-hour fishing charter out of Pass-a-Grille Pass on St.Pete Beach was great, considering the conditions. NOAA called for 2 foot seas and wind out of the Southeast at 10-15 knots…NOAA was wrong!

Jawbreaker fishing charters is dedicated to putting our clients on the fish…but also bringing them home in one piece. We were lucky to have some old-time friends, and new ones on this trip, and they knew what to do once we got there. It was definitely not a day for the “Weak-at-Heart”. Cathy and Doug were the champs of the day putting 5 of 7 Big Gag Grouper in the box. Check out Doug with a fine specimen of a Florida Gag grouper.

These guys had the skills for the bite but the seas ruled the day. Unfortunately, our trip was shortened to 6 hours as the wind and waves made it too dangerous to continue on…and we considered ourselves lucky to have some decent fish to take home anyway. Jawbreaker fishing charters will find the fish, even in adverse conditions, and we will modify our trips to suit your needs and comfort. Take your next offshore adventure with the Jawbreaker fishing team and consider yourself in safe hands. Happy fishing to ya! Capt.Dan
