Grouper getting with the boys from GA

Tim and Holly Edgar are my kind of people, and when I got the call saying “the boys saved their money up for another fishing trip with you Capt.Dan”, I thought, wow...now that's parenting. Just like my folks taught my siblings and I, work hard, be responsible, save money, have fun!...and the boys from southern Georgia know how to have fun, and catch fish!!..

This was not the Edgars' first rodeo on the Jawbreaker and Tim, Holly, JT, Collin and Todd knew exactly what to do. They wanted a good fight and some fresh vittles, and this time of year that means Grouper and Snapper fishing...shallow water-light tackle-style! So off we were to the Grouper grounds, and the fish were hungry. The bite was so on and the Edgars' had their hands full until their 5-man Gag Grouper limit was met-minus one. Along with some colorful Snappers and Porgies, Gag and Red Grouper made for one impressive looking fish box fit for a King.

Having a little extra time to hunt-compliments of Mom(thanks Holly)-gave us a chance to do a slow troll over a nearby artificial reef. Big Blue runners, Cigar minnows and Threadfin were the baits of choice and in less than 10 minutes we had a juvenile Cobia on board for a quick snapshot, before being released. A very large Spanish mackerel(lost) and a big 'ole curious Cuda gave the family a parting good-bye...until next year.

Check out the boys from GA with a few dinner guests.(left to right)Todd,Collin and JT...you guys rock! Looking forward to tromping thru the woods in the near future. Happy hunting and fishing guys! Capt.Dan
