From the Heartland to St Pete Beach fishing

The Gulf of Mexico waters near St.Pete Beach are coming alive! Friday's 4-hour fishing charter left Pass-a-grille, St.Pete Beach, at 8 am with hopes of trolling up some Spanish mackerel. Only 3 miles offshore St.Pete Beach we ran into some gulls working the surface, dropped lines and started catching fish. It's that easy folks! Right now the water is at the prime temperature for the mackerel, Kingfish, Cobia and all other Pelagic species common to the offshore and nearshore waters of St.Pete Beach and Tampa.

Our new friends came all the way from Nebraska to fish with Jawbreaker fishing charters. Joe and Jerri Keegan did what every good parent should do, they took their teens, Tyler and Nicole, on a Florida fishing charter off St.Pete Beach...and the fishing was good! Check out Tyler Keegan with a chunky Red Grouper. This fish will be legal to harvest come April 1st.

Every fishing charter we take out is special for one reason or another. This fishing trip was special because I got to meet real American farmers from Nebraska. We all take certain things for granted at times but need to remember the hard working folks that literally put the food on our dinner tables. Thanks to the Keegans and happy fishing to Ya! Capt.Dan
