Fishing with the family on St Pete Beach

I just don't think our last fishing charter could have gone any better. My client, and new friend, John Gillen, would probably agree. John, wife Sue, and 'adult' children Megan, Kevin and Kyle had a blast on their first time family fishing trip....and Jawbreaker fishing charters was glad to be a part of it.

Like the day before, this fishing trip was all about big fish-Gags, Reds, Mangos and grunts made a strong showing in both size and numbers. Newcomers or not, the Gillen crew caught on quick and put enough fresh Grouper and Snapper in the box to feed the whole family, and the Captain's family, on a 4-hour trip. Thanks guys! Unfortunately though, big Gag Groupers like the one Megan Gillen is displaying proudly did not make the ride home with us. Yes, this extremely rare fish is now protected, and in compliance with new laws, we had to release roughly 20 keeper-size fish on this 4-HOUR TRIP. Oh well, perhaps someday with some new faces writing sensible laws we will be able to harvest a small piece of what really appears to be a strong fishery. Until then, happy fishing anyway.Capt.Dan
