Afternoon delight of Tampa Bay fishing

Maybe we should say 'Luck of the Irish',...that's what Courtney Patt was thinking when she hauled this nice Gag grouper over the rail, on the Jawbreaker, Friday afternoon. Grouper fishing in and around Tampa Bay has been good. When you can go out on a hot summertime afternoon and catch keeper-size grouper within 5 miles, fishing is good.

Our new friends from Tampa were ready for action and action is what they got. The mackerel and Barracuda were not an option this late in the day. Most of these pelagiic fish are looking for some cooler water when the afternoon surface temps are hitting 92 degrees. However, the Grouper fishing was on. Lots of short Red grouper and grunts were making it a busy trip but the big Gags were there to follow suit.

Grouper fishing in the Tampa and St.Pete beach area is only going to get better. Fall is right around the corner. We are looking at what could be one of the best grouper fishing seasons we have seen in awhile. And don't forget the Kingfishing that happens out of John's Pass and St.pete beach. Now is the time to book a charter fishing trip with Jawbreaker fishing charters. Call today and get in on the action. Until then...Happy fishing to ya! Capt. Dan
