This ones for the girls

Steven Mays is a smart man. When he looked at the list of fishing guides in the Tampa Bay area, he went with the Jawbreaker...again! This time he sent the ladies Debbie, Carol, Belinda, Zara and the boys Harry and Patrick.

Well, I guess we impressed these folks last October and hooked them on Jawbreaker fishing. Check out the report “Prime time for Pelagics off St.Pete Beach” from October 28, 2010. Unfortunately, this time the toothy predators like Kingfish, Barracuda and mackerel were not willing to eat immediately after the latest Northwest blow, and we only gave the St.Pete reef about 20 minutes of trolling some 'livies' before we headed to the Fall grouper grounds empty handed. After setting the anchor in 38 feet we were greeted to an impressive show on the bottom machine but the fish would not eat. Hmmm?...over an hour into a 4-hour trip and I was starting to feel like a fool. I had to make a move, and less than ½ mile later and we were into non-stop action. Red Grouper, keeper size Gag Grouper and very few Grey snappers were making a showing on the Jawbreaker once again! The most exciting catch of the day goes to Zara with her baby Bonnethead shark, check her out above kind of proudly displaying her catch! Good job kid.

So goes another fun filled day of fishing with great folks, and that is what really makes this job a dream come true. Steven Mays' only request was to show his family and friends a good time, oh, and bring home fresh fish for lunch. I'm pretty sure we hit the nail on the head with this one, and I hope to see the Mays' again, and again, and again....catching big fish on the Jawbreaker. Happy fishing to Ya, Capt.Dan
