StPete Beach Florida fishing report

My buddy Dan Budde...oh, and son DJ, a.k.a. "Angler of the month", found a grouper fishing charter to be just what the doctor ordered. These guys, once again came from windy Illinois to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico for a great day of fishing fun.

We started out in about 45' of water with water temps in the high 50's, man is it cold for fishing in the st.pete, clearwater areas right now, but the grouper bite was great! Dan and son were busy catching and releasing nice Gag and Red Grouper on this charter fishing trip while I personally manned the chicken-rig. In no time we had a fish box full of tasty snapper. Florida fishing charters at their best!

Moving around on this charter fishing trip was the key. Once we were in about 51' we hit the mother load. Too bad it is March and not April or we would have brought home at least 8 or 9 keeper sized grouper on this charter fishing trip out of pass-a-grille, st.pete beach.Oh well, we will have to settle with catch-and-release until April and then it is game-on. Either way, I know that the Buddes' had a great time fishing in the Gulf of Mexico on the Jawbreaker and that is all that matters. Take a look at the Dans with DJ's nice Gag Grouper(above).
