From St Louis to St Pete fishing fanatics find fun

Spanish mackerel have been making a strong push through the Tampa Bay area, and Ryan Breakfield's family got a good taste of what the 'macks' have to offer when they are here....lots of fish! Break out the smoker-there are enough Spanish mackerel out there to start a small business,...oops! Did I just say that? Oh well, break out the spoons and planers and go get ya some!

We started this particular 4-hour fishing charter on the St.Pete Beach reef, just 6 miles off St. Pete Beach. Sometimes the 'tanks' will hold the mackerel when no other reef will, but today these fish were everywhere. As soon as we deployed the hardware...fish on! And it was like that for the next hour or better. Although no monsters we fooled on this trip, the fish box was looking good enough for a southern-style fish fry, and we had more fishing to do.

A quick move to the bottom fishing grounds and we were into the snapper and grouper once again. Lots of red grouper, and the occasional heart-break Gag grouper kept these guys busy. Check out Ryan with a healthy Gag Grouper(above). Several giant Grouper made their presence felt and showed these boys what a 'break-off' involves. Oh well, September 15 is just weeks away....fair warning big Gag Groupers, we're coming to get you!

Well, Ryan and his crew, Tony, Don, John, Joe and Katie were feeling pretty good about the day, and who could blame them. Spending time on the water, especially with good friends and family, is a no lose situation. Right now the weather is perfect and the fishing is only going to get better. Put together your own crew and call the Jawbreaker, we are dedicated to making your offshore experience one to remember. Happy fishing to ya, Capt.Dan

What is seven added to three?:*

Captain Dan and First Mate...thank you for showing the family a good time with lots of fish stories that I'm sure will follow :)

They all had a great time.

Now...all we have to do is have one heck of a fish fry. Fish fry St. Louis style!

Thanks again.
