Grand times folks! If you have ever wanted to do a fishing charter in the Tampa Bay area, now is the time! Sunday's 4-hour deep sea fishing trip, out of John's Pass in Madeira Beach, provided non-stop action for our eager crew. We had the pleasure of taking out some local entrepeneurs, "College Hunks Hauling Junk", owned by Nick Friedman. We didn't haul in any junk, but these guys and gals hauled in some fish.

Spanish mackerel are going to be on the catch list for a few months, so we decided to grab a few for the smoker. The bite was a bit slower than expected in the "ditch", but the fish were decent in size. Bottom fishing on a nearby ledge, just West of John's Pass, was a bit more productive. Check out Jen Loveridge with a very nice grey Snapper...Way to go girlfriend!!...The grouper and snapper bite has been excellent this year, and you can expect this type of Grouper fishing action to continue with all of the Gag Grouper fishing closures that are upon us.

Catch and release fishing for Grouper is nothing to feel bad about.
