Beam me up Scotty its wild down here

Usually I get the call directly from Scott, but this time it was 'bad boy' James Seifert who called in a last minute request for some offshore fishing action on the Jawbreaker...and of course, we were happy to accommodate. You see, Scott Dols, of trucks.com and bigtruckrentals.com, is a very repeat client of mine, and friend, and anytime James is in town....fishing offshore is a must!

Sunday greeted us with outstanding weather. Light winds out of the Southeast, and seas at 2 feet gave us the perfect scenario for a quick half-day fishing charter, with results. Our first stop was in 50 feet, to collect a few snapper for the afternoon fish-fry. As the big grunts, triggerfish and porgies were making their way into the fish box, the juvenile Red Grouper were being caught, and released, like we were working at some sort of fast paced factory job. Almost like work, but not quite. After we secured dinner plans, it was off to the wreck to pick a fight with a Kingfish or Barracuda. A few days ago we had a solid 30 pound King on the line for over 10 minutes before getting tail whipped...and losing the battle. Either way, it was enough to put us back on the same spot. This time it was a 20 pound Barracuda that got fooled into eating an over-sized Cigar minnow. Check out my good buddies-James, Scott and Blake with Scott's 'battle of the day'....you guys had it coming!

Once again, spending the day with these guys brightened my perspective on things. It is hard to think about the normal worries in life when you are surrounded by folks that just plain know how to have a great time, and Scott Dols' crew knows how to have a great time...trust me! James even got a special treat as we were welcomed back at the dock by a Manatee. This massive lug hung around the boat and kept the guys entertained while Jon and I cleaned our catch. The memories just keep coming.

Plan your next offshore adventure with the Jawbreaker. Whether you are a newcomer to fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, or old pros like Scott and James, our goal is the same...keep you coming back for more! Happy fishing folks! Capt.Dan
