3 Generations charter fishing out of Tampa

What can I say about my friend Maddy Corson? She and her son, Ben, and his son William, from Pass-a-Grille, St.Pete Beach, Florida have been charter fishing on the Jawbreaker for over 5 years-and often! It is always a true pleasure to see familiar faces on our charter boat in St.Pete beach, especially Maddy's. She is a true inspiration...and lucky with the fish!

With the cold front that came thru last night, the offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico were not suitable for a charter fishing trip. As always, I offered a 'Plan B', Maddy and the boys said "let's go". Off to Tampa Bay to see if the big Spanish macks are still there from our charter trip on Wednesday afternoon. Well, they were!!. I was a bit nervous as we approached the bridge and saw how dirty the water was. The South-Southwest winds, up to 25 knots Thursday night, stirred things up a bit. I figured these winds would move the fish... I figured wrong.

The water temps in Tampa Bay are around 71 degrees right now and the bait stacks are showing. Working these "balls" of bait, trolling #1 & #2 planers with a long leader attached to a gold or silver squid spoon seemed to do it. Keep the speed around 6-7 knots and cover the area between the Skyway bridge and the big American flag on Ft. Desoto south beach. You will cath the 'mack'.

Check out 3 generations of family fishing fun! Maddy, Ben and William with some large Spanish mackerels. We had non-stop, fish-catching action for over 3 hours in Tampa Bay, and left the fish biting. If you are looking for a charter fishing trip in Tampa, St. Pete or Clearwater....please call JawBreaker Fishing Charters Inc.  The fishing is hot! call Today! Happy fishing to ya, Capt. Dan.
